I applied to over 30 companies about a month ago. Ive been accepted by about 15-20. Ive completed exactly one BPO during this time. I only get orders from three companies, one of them being eval so I dont think it even counts. Part of the problem is I can never accept the orders fast enough. I just got six orders from MSV and less than a minute later when I am on the website they are all gone. Is this possible or am I not doing something correctly?

Are you getting the emails fast enough? Look at the timestamp on your emails, maybe your getting them a minute or two late. That is enough time for them to be gone. If you are getting them right away, if your on the cpu, just leave those sites open. Once you get an email just refresh the page and you should have an order.

If your getting the emails late, get a new email address..

Hope that helps...

You are right, I just got another order and it was timestamped at 3:53 and real time was 3:57. I have a gmail account, which I thought was pretty reliable. So what account should I open?

Actually im not sure that was the problem. I just had someone in the office send me the email and it hit my blackberry within 10 seconds.

Reo - Most orders hit the websites and are accepted before the email goes out, and competition is tough. Watch the sites and refresh often. It's tedious, but I know of what I speak! I'm one that is catching them before the email! Good luck.

i rarely see the "order available" email. i might see 2 or 3 of those per week. Yet I average 30-50 bpos a week.

you gotta figure out how to be pro-active about orders.

I switched to Gmail in December and set my phone up to retrieve via IMAP my email message. As soon as I get an email on the gmail server, I get a text message, I immediately login in or if I am logged in I switch to that company's screen. Text message come much faster than email, I usually get the email 2-3 minutes later or longer. By that time I have accepted the order. I have doubled my number of BPO's in the last month since switching to Gmail and text message notification.

But, I have also been signed up with most of the companies I do work for for several years, so I may also be getting priority emails. I missed several MSV's this morning because I forgot to change my email account with them, I got the emails 2-3 hours after they were sent out. I have since rectified that little issue, they rarely send any to my area anyways and one was for a house I have in pre-list, so I couldn't have done it anyways.

Good Luck and persevere, it takes time to build you name up in their systems.

hang in there...

here was my rough time line....

month 1- 3 bpos
month 2- 6 bpos
month 3- 25 bpos
month 4- 50
month 5- 60
month 6- 75
month 7- 100
month 8- 125+ ....and here i sit : )

oh and yea i rarely get broadcasted ones anymore...all either are assigned to me, or i get phone calls, who has time to site in front of a computer...

it takes time for good companies to trust you and evaluate your work...yea i wouldnt do evals ...unless you just want practice because you will never get paid

E-mail times vary on the volume the network is experiencing. This was directly from a tech supervisor at comcast. He explained at peak usage times the time from when soemone sends an e-mail to the time it gets to your inbox can be delayed.this explains why sometimes you will get some right away and other times it is delayed.Under those usage guidelines that is not something you have control over so you would have to go to each bpo website and keep clicking on braodcast orders to get them.

You also live in an area where there are several vendors competing for the orders. You should definitely apply for more companies you've applied with less than 20 percent of the ones out there.

Thanks Guys,

moneymike, The one that I did do wasnt with Eval and I got paid 110 bucks so that paid for about a third of my blackberry. Two more and I break even.
jbt4re I will look into the texts. I guess ill have to upgrade my text plan.

Some of you guys say to spend time in front of the computer and go through each website. Ive done that for hours and not gotten anything. I guees ill keep trying.

The question I have is how do some of these companies begin to trust your work if you never get that first order?

You do get the first order you just have to be there when the regular person screws up and capitalize on it.YOU HAVE TO BE SIGNED UP WITH THE COMPANIES FIRST SO THEY KNOW YOU EXIST.:)
