It's the Evaluation Solutions check writing machine. It hasn't worked in decades but now that Auburn has located it they may get it re-habbed and working again..... Not!
My guess - it's a new fangled, elek-tro-Nik wash wringer. After you scrub your clothes on the wash board, you run it through one of these contraptions and then put it on the clothes dryer. :-)

Looks to me like some sort of machine to beat rugs or horse mats. The way the plywood guard is so close to it means nothing is meant to wrap around it. The profile of the balustrades and their offset suggest a vibrating affect. The pulley ratio is geared for power instead of speed.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however.
