How long should I wait?

Hello everyone I just completed my online pre-license course and I plan on taking the course exit examination in 2 weeks. I was told that I should take the state exam within a week after the course exam, but unfortunately due to an incident that had happened a little under a year ago I now need to get the commissions approval for me to sit for the state test.
On average, how long does it usually take for the commission to send out a decision on whether I can sit for the test or not (specifically in Georgia). My course administrator allows pre-license material to be viewed for up to 90 days after the course has been completed. I'm thinking that from the day I pass the exit exam (cross my fingers) until I receive a decision, I will keep reviewing the information and possibly purchase exam booklets.
Any ideas would GREATLY be appreciated!

Why don't you just call them and ask how long the process normally takes or ask them where yours is in the process?

One suggestion I would make is to sign up for the CRAM course sponsored by the GAMLS at the Atlanta Real Estate School. I took my course online and then sat through the two day cram course. I really think I could have just sat in the cram course and passed the state exam. It was that good of a course. Best of luck in getting everything straightened out.

I think calling them will be my best bet....just to see where things are.
As for how truthful I was with the full disclosure, no need to sugar coat the matter as I know they will have easy access to all information in regards to the situation. I put it in plain black and white...no strings attached at all.
Funny you should bring that up about the cram course Triton. A friend of mine did the same thing and said the same thing as well. If it's gonna take a little longer than expected, I would definitely do a cram course to freshen up.
In the mean time, I'm gonna keep reviewing so nothing gets fogged up. Thanks everyone!

The cram course was well worth it. Fast paced, not a lot of trivial questions allowed, very well organized. Highly recommend it.

Any ideas would GREATLY be appreciated! I know of a couple of agents (back in 1999 and 2000) that had "incidents" and once they submitted the letter of explanation along with any other required documents, it took less than 2 weeks for the RE Commission to give their approval. I think the key is to give all details related to incident and follow up with the Commission if appropriate.
Also, I would HIGHLY recommend the "Cram Course". It was designed to help you pass the test. I took it and I can say that it truly focuses on Exam related questions.
Hope this helps.GA_RE

Well in the letter I basically stated what occurred, the fact that I have satisfied what the court required me to do, and what I am doing to prevent another future occurrence. I also sent them certified copies of the citations and the sentence. Hopefully that will suffice.
Wow everyone is praising the cram course. I will definitely take it!!

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
