Oh, Ditty!

Is your house an earth-sheltered house or did he somehow fly?

Yes, I have a non conforming residence , a earth contact home...and I would hate to do a BPO on it... the gate, landscape berm and stone wall helped to slow him down...

This is from a house I did today. The trash out was completed and it was advertised for auction. The first thing I saw when I walked in the door was a wrapper and used condom. The following photo is of the upstairs bedroom door.

It looks like they couldn't afford paper and had to write on the wall & door.

Food is pretty common. This however fits into the 'most unusual' side of this topic. A 46 oz. can of Butterscotch Sundae "stuff" -- ready to make sundaes with, just open it up and use it. (Basically that's what the instructions said.)

Money, I find it ironic that I find loose change in almost 90% of foreclosed properties. I used to not pick up the but I started picking them up and each day add to my big ol bucket of change. When I get to $100 I roll them up and get a $100 bill to save. Free found money, all you have to do is pick it up.

One of the biggest problems in my area is that once a house becomes vacant it becomes the dumping ground for most all the neighbors from a diameter of about three blocks.

A few weeks ago I went by a vacant house to do an interior and there actually was two pickups unloading old tires, batteries, old appliances, and other items onto the side yard. I just waved at them, they waved back and all went about our business.

The county dumping fees have become so high that people are looking for places to dump trash.

I agree with loose change. It is in everyone I get. I vote for tools being pretty common. Hammers, screwdrivers, shovels and rakes. Ugly lamps, household cleaners under the sink and my favorite - trash bags. Shoes, and tons and tons of hangers.

Wow Ellen, I could not agree more. Little innocent bystanders having to leave behind their worlds. Totally crushing.

I also find lots of loose change. Sadly, though I also see things that make me want to cry. A father and son photo taken on the field at Fenway was one that I remember, also a wedding album.
It gets depressing sometimes. How could you not want those things? Yeah, I know, maybe there was a divorce involved, but it still gets to me.
