What items of interest should you be carrying to make up the perfectly outfitted REO vehicle???

I will start with the basics---

1) Camera
2) Key sets/combo box codes to all REO's
3) Business cards
4) Supply of flyers
5) Tools (let's make a list)
6) Cleaning supplies (let's make a list of these too)
7) Flashlight

etc. etc

I bet with this group we can put together a lean, mean REO machine.....

(Guns, knives, machetes etc all count as weapons)

Latex gloves, surgical masks, antibacterial lotion
pepper spray
laptop, phones, power cords for all
Black and Decker air compressor (small for vehicle tires)
Black and Decker power supply/jumper cable combo
Fix-a-flat
Tape measure, power screwdriver/drill with attachments, manual screwdrivers
Bottled water (helps get signs in the rock hard ground sometimes)
Tape (duct, electrical, scotch)

I know, it sounds like I am going to drive to Florida and abduct a romantic rival from the airport. At least I haven't taken to wearing the astronaut diapers...

08) Various insect repellants (Spray & Natural)
a) Wasp a big can
b) Flea and tick to spray of pants before going in
C) Bert's Bee's on myself

09) Safety Items:
a) First Aid Kit (Red Cross Approved)
b) Mask (I use niosh approved 2 micron for mold with replaceable cartridges)
c) ABC Fire Extinquisher

10) Ladder (I use a collapsable model made in Norway because it extends to 12 feet and holds over 300 lb)

11) Portable drill and saw (I have Dewalt brand kit complete with extra bits, hole saws bits, screws, molly bolts and assorted fastners)

12) Collapsable shovel with trash bags

13) High top one piece rubber boots and second set of clothes with under garments, socks and shoes.

In addiion to some of the other things mentioned-

WD-40
rags, for anything
padlocks for gates
Batteries in sizes for both camera and flashlight
List of where I am going

Dustbuster for quick sweeps of carpets after initial cleaning
Pump sprayer, to clean dirt/dust off front doors

Remember, this is not just stuff for initial visits.

Vicks vapor rub (put it right under your nose when you go into the places that smell really bad.. you will only smell the vicks)

Yes, I've been in some really gross places to figure that one out..

Of course he would probably question my "crime kit" aka "REO kit" in the back. If you think about it, we carry better crime supplies than most criminals. Auburn even brings her own crime scene tape. lol...

I don't have a picture Rob. It's like a circle thing from DeWalt that you clamp on the door and can drill a new door knob hole. I keep getting older houses that have never had a locking door, they just push the door open and shut, with no handle or knob.

Don't forget the jug or two of tap water (in season up north here) to wet the ground a bit to drive thoses signs with your brass mallet.

I had three listings finally go vacant, all three had BBQs on the back porch.

Me too they all seem to leave the grill.What gets me is I had one that a third party trashed out,well they didn't trash out they took the grill and patio set.Hope they have a good summer!

Gosh, what I wouldn't give to find a nice patio set!

We did a personal property eviction on a lifesize suit of armor I really, really wanted. I was sooo bummed when the owner claimed it, it would have been awesome!

I have a full brand new(seriously still tags on it) entertainment set.couch,end tables,entertainment center.Fingers crossed everyday that no one shows up for it!!

one also had a plasma tv,but of course a third party got that and im sure its hanging on there wall now! I never end up with anything:( someday I will hit the jack pot

Most banks do not want you to take anything, even after the personal property eviction is over, they want it all to go to the dump, but I have some nice AMs who don't care, charity, me, whatever.

Not that I ever want what people left behind. Well, I did end up with three HUGE boxes of electrosol tabs for the dishwasher. I had an REO in escrow and the buyers agent freaked out that they were under the sink (trashout guy thought they should stay with the house), so I took them home. They are fabulous!

And I always cut a piece of rope if I find any, for my Min Pin, she loves rope.

Ya most of mine have said you can keep it,as long as the eviction is over,but evictions dont happen often, The stuff most of them leave behind is junk,like the 5 hampster cages full of S*** that I found today in a house!or the can collection of a life time the whole 3 car garage is filled!

Oooh I had a single garage bay filled with maybe a years supply of urine in Crystal Geiser bottles.. eeew.. the things people collect.

I think that when they find out they are losing there house,they think hmm..what is something stupid and gross I can start collecting or doing and then leave it for someone else to clean up!

Get a big, fat screwdriver and a small sledge. Knock your holes in the parched earth, and then remove the screwdriver. Then the sign will go in the ground without having to destroy it in the process.

(Learned through putting up political signs)

Maybe it's because of my age, I also carry a teenager. I need someone to speak the language of the very same people who will probably be stealing and causing havoc on my new listing.

Don't forget Mace and/or Pepper spray. You will be glad you have it with you, not in the car when you find yourself face to face with a dog that suddenly appears out of no were, hungry and protecting his property.

I've never pepper sprayed a dog, but I HAVE pepper sprayed an opossum!
