There are two polls, and they will be open until 10pm on February 15, 2008.
One poll is for "FULL TIME" agents only. We define "full time" agents as those who derive a majority of their income from real estate, and not another job or profession.
If you are not a full-time agent, then please take the Part Time Agent poll.
Thank you for your partipation. All answers are anonymous.

I'm Part time.
I didn't make any money in 2007. I only started activly using my license since December time frame though.
2008 I have a pretty good start. Made $240 bucks doing a fee for service and have a 206K house listed in Oklahoma City area.
My goal for 2008 -- as a part time realtor is to gross $30,000. And to quit my full time job by June of 08.

Many real estate companies in our Minneapolis confirmed that they made about the same number of sales last year, but their earnings had dropped due to shrunk commission. Plus when the market is so slow, it needs more dollars for marketing. That increases the overhead too.

Sounds like those part-timers need to go full-time and make 100k+ then, eh?
:-)
You like 1911's, Tony? The kind I'm thinking of?

First thought or second?
First thought: a joke. Making 100k-200k a year does not follow from going full-time in real estate. More like, the part timers are failures at it, just in the process of washing out.
Second thought: a 1911 is a common, iconic model of pistol of which I am fond.

What's this, GlockTalk?
I almost bought one once. I've gone other directions... but I appreciate the sheer utility of a Glock.
I just ordered a Zeiss riflescope today; is that Germanic enough of me to get into the club?

OK, back to the subject at hand.
There's no way of determining what expenses went into making that $100 - $200K. As someone already said, this poll is about income, not profits. The team leaders at my office talk about GCI all the time when introducing a speaker to an audience of mostly newbies. But I know about the thousands those speakers invest in monthly mailings, free gifts, calendars etc. I'm sure their net income, which truly is non of my business, would paint a very different picture.

Good point Traco. One of the top producers at my office is a friend. Just about every other time that I call him, he's in Chicago where he's from hosting some type of gathering and networking to find people interested in moving to the South.

I personally know a part time agent that did quite well in 07. I wish i did higher than i did in 2007 (Barely 20k) I MIGHT just beat it the first quarter of 08, I've got plenty of work at my new company

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
