I am in the process of starting my own trashout/maid service specifically for REO agents in my area. Of course I won't bid on my own reo properties but I can still make some extra cash and hire my jr college son and friends.

Where in So Cal are you located? I work with other preservation contractors in Southern California when either we or they are overloaded.

That way nobody is late on a job unless everyone's too busy. It hasn't happened yet, thank goodness, but I'm sure the day will come when it does.

Somehow... Someway... Someday... We will convert that dog dung into fuel for our cars. Just think of that happy thought next time you walk in to dog dung.

That's a nice thought, Greg. But we cleanup more human waste than animal waste.

Maybe there will be a market for THAT sometime in the future but I don't think I'm up to the challenges that storing it would bring until it happens.

I watched this forclosed house sit there for months and finally one day the bank hired lawn service company.

The yard had not been mowed in years and they mowed it. They took snow shovels in the house and pushed everything to the inside garage door and then took a small cat buldozer and buldozed it out of the garage and dumped it into lawn service trailer.

Funny thing I ever saw but got the job done. House sold by the end of the month.

Hi! You might want to read the REO Property Preservation forum as well.

Good luck!

I don't agree that trash outs are entirely about reducing liability. If so, why would they clean out the closets and under the sinks and stuff? Or when the trash out is a minimal job, why do it at all? Why broom sweep? It is not as if someone would be injured because of hangers in the closet and a bag of clothes, some cleaning products. I think it is at least as much about improving the marketability of the property. Overall with the poop I'd say seller both improves liability (poop liability) and marketability if it is removed.
