I am sitting here manually scanning yet another agreement of sale that was faxed in, and thinking that there has to be a better way to do this. Does anyone use an Internet fax service to collect offers? What is your experience? Good bad or indifferent? What format is supported? pdf? Do you use an editing program to trim offers before uploading? Which one?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated....

I use a combination of a Fujitsu Scansnap scanner, a full version of Adobe Acrobat and http://www.accessline.com for my online fax.

With that combination I receive all of my faxes by pdf, can edit them easily in Adobe Acrobat and if necassary can add to them quickly with the Scansnap which is a no frills document scanner.

I have noticed lately that some of the REO agents in my area have removed their fax number from the MLS, so agents are forced to e-mail offers in PDF form.

I don't know why agents are so married to their fax machines. A nice clear scanned copy is so much easier to read and saves a lot of paper.

I've been using efax.com Pro version since I started my business 12 years ago. For $16.95 mo. the Pro version comes with a local fax number. When I get an offer I just save it as a tiff file and send it to the client.

Sybadon, you can use any line that your computer will accept. The internet fax program converts an incoming fax into an email.
I use a wireless device for mine.

Has anyone used extremefax.com... $6.59 mo.
or has anyone used trustfax.com... as low as $4.95 mo.

Doing Internet search for cheap fax service, but would like some input on what everyone is using or has used in the past. What worked and what didn't work so good.

No. But you can get efax for free. But the number will not be local. It might be in Amarillo, or something.

I use myfax for $10 a month and because they didn't have local number in my area, assigned me a 888 number. Fantastic for when you're on vacation. I was at Disneyland last summer, I was able to have an offer "sent" to me, review it and email it on to my clients and no one knew where I was!

I also use accessline. It's great and you can get it discounted if your a Costco member. They also give you an 877 number

Check with your MLS board. Mine has a free eFax service for members. I need to check up on that as I use eFax.com now.
