I've been checking numerous social networking sites and came across Squidoo. The content you make there seem to get good presence on search engines. Has anyone else used this? How do I improve another sites SEO by using Squidoo?

I just created a profile to get a few links to my site. It's a high ranked page, and will no doubt help boost your results.

They have a nicely formatted page and I built a lens for my bookkeeping service at Squidoo last year. This is the link http://www.squidoo.com/crosscountry if you want to check it out.

It doesn't cost a dime and is very presentable and easy to set up. Even if you have a website [as I do] it doesn't hurt to have other places to get a little more exposure.

It is free and won't hurt your SEO efforts. I think you should go for it. I have one.

Hmmm.... I don't know about Squidoo anymore. Granted, it has been an excellent place in the past to help you get traffic to your site(s), but now Google is laying the hammer on Squidoo. Because of the amount of spam that is appearing on Sguidoo nowadays, Google is not considering it as much as an authority as it used to. It has been dramatically affected (in a negative manner) to Google Dances.

If you want to read more about it, check these links out: http://www.earnersblog.com/squidoo-rankings/, http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/07/10/google-acting-against-squidoo-due-to-spam/

I've got 4 0r 5. They are good for back links with some actual PR.

Thanks for posting it, Paul. Looks good!! I made one back in January:
http://www.squidoo.com/hideout_lake_ariel_pa

I should make up some more but just haven't had the energy - there are so many things to keep up with.

It did get a few views, and I even earned 41 cents since January!

Hey, did anyone ever wonder why the cents symbol is misisng from our computer keyboards????

LOL I did. it doesn't make cents does it. I have never used this ^ symbol, maybe they should replace it.

I made them quickly and it was mostly for links. I think you need to spend a lot of time to actually get anything from them.

i think squidoo is good if you are an affiliate marketer. if you have favroite books that and like to write great how to articles, you can make an extra income with their site. as far as generate long term business i don't think it will do unless you are an author selling a book.

Best I've seen so far from squidoo is a PR1 on a page that's not their own.

Not that a PR1 isn't important, it would take a PR0 right off the bottom.

A more useful link or page would be a post on a forum that allows your URL in the signature. It has to be a popular enough forum to have solid pages cached with responses to them. There are plenty.

You need to put the uniques content otherwise squidoo will not approve your lens. Your lens should be interesting enough so that everybody take a look to your lens.
