Join groups with whom you share interests. Get involved with people who share your interests and work with them towards a common goal. They'll get to know you and what you do. Volunteer - run for the Board, edit the newsletter, work on fundraising projects - anything to get your name out there. Join networking groups. Join internet lists in the same way - not to market yourself, but because you share an interest. I've gotten more listings that way than any other - people "know" me through the lists and our discussions on other topics.
Attend meetings (city council, homeowner's association if you live there, whatever) pertinent to what's going on in your farm area - wear your badge when you do so. Discuss the issues with people in the area you're farming - get their take on things, give them yours if you think you have good ideas.
Basically, work on meeting people not just to sell them houses (or sell their houses), but because of shared interests. It really does pay off - and you get to have fun at your interests at the same time!
Have a website. Better yet, you're with ERA, have a blog with a link to your Super Page (you have set up your Super Page, right?) and talk about a variety of real-estate related things pertaining to your specialty. It can be the real estate market; it can be remodeling; in my case, it's life on your own property with your own horses and what that's *really* like or the latest recipe or the latest cool cooking gadget or school issues or darksky.org or whatever is of interest that pertains to life in a house or on a farm that occurs to me. With lots of information and/or links to information so that folks will remember they can get that info on your site and come back. Still working on that one myself, but I've had positive feedback from those who ARE looking in my area on my website.
Bottom line - connect with people.
