Are you talking about the form that has like 10 questions at the beginning that asks about the neighborhood and projected values 10 years down the road, and you rate various things on a scale of 1 to 10? If so, that's a form that's been around for a while. They typically don't pay more for that.

I received an offer for one last night at $80. I declined because it was extremely rural, hard to comp, and due 6/8/08 at 9am. Today the called offered me $100 and extended till 5pm.

CanDo - I've only done a few for them, so it was a surprise to see it. I've never come across that type of form before. I know this weekend's prices are unusual.

The increase in fee was for the rush, not the form. The more you do for them, the more you'll see that form. I'm not crazy about the form, if I could predict what any particular neighborhood was going to be doing in 10 years, I'm pretty sure that both NAR and CAR would be knocking on my door. Since they're not, it's safe to assume that my "guessimate" is as good as anyone else's.

I've done that form alot (for $40) and several times I have just done the ranking and left the comment box next to it blank. Never been questioned about it, but now I just put 5-10 words in each. LA and EML have similar forms now with the same categories to rank.

I ignored the comment box and just put the ranking. Left lots of comments about property, neighborhood and market conditions but the other thing..pffft...just because they are paying double does not get them an appraisal.

FYI.....I took an interior BPO from this company early this morning...I arrived at the property 20 miles from my office as I was told that the property was vacant with lock box. To my surprise no lock box...this has happened before at times with other companies and usually can be resolved, so I immediately called and politely asked if they could contact the requester to see when the lock box would be available. Just my luck I had a very rude representative and she said that I should not be taking an order out of my zip code (I has mentioned that I had driven 20 miles). I apologized and said I work regularly in this area/zip code (use to live in it) and that I did not think it was fair that I was the blame for no lock box and that she may need to re-assign as my time was valuable if she could not get back to me within 20 minutes. Immediatley after we hung up she sent out a blast for grabs on this BPO. Now another nice Realtor will get there and also see that there is no lock box. To top it off I returned to my office and had an email for with a deactivation notice from their site....wtf...I was not even the rude one...their reprentative was...and she still had no problem sending out the order without planning to inform the company there was no lock box in place.

It is all fine with me.....I do not need them.....you all just beware....they have NO respect for our profession or our time. There are better companies to work for!

Very surprising to here this story. I have dealt with them and never had a problem. 20 miles is nothing where I am......surprised to here they considered it out of your area.
Are you in an urban area?

Hi MArealtor...No I am in a suburban area, so 20 miles is nothing when you expect there to be a lock box. It may just have been a bad day for the gal on the phone the day this happened and it turned into my problem...At this point it is water under the bridge for me...and maybe a blessing in disguise...Good luck!
