Just thought this would be something important to cover. Another topic was heading this direction, and I thought it deserved it's own topic. We use an HSA- our family of 7 is less than $600 per month, and our deductable is $2,500. Everything is covered at 100% after deductable. So if something terrible happens to someone we just pay the $2,500. Plus if you don't meet your deductable you have a little money socked away in your HSA (basically like an IRA). What does everyone else use? Anyone have any scoop on the group insurance legislation that would allow us to get group insurance through NAR? It probably wouldn't save anyone healthy any money. But for anyone who has health problems that may prevent them from getting a good individual plan this could be a good thing.

Until my wife got insurance through her company, we were paying over $700 a month for health and dental with a 5000 deductable through the California Association of Realtors insurance program (called Real Care out here).

I would guess that just about all states have some sort of insurance program available through their state Association of Realtors... is this not the case?

Yes some do but the coverage is crap and too expensive. In ga solid source realty just came out with insurance for us and are the first to be rolling it out in our state.

No physical self-employed,135 a month individual,or 330 a month up to 7 people.covers health,dental and hospital.co-pay is 15 to 30 bucks per doctor visit.

I am getting the info this tuesday, the nar legislation is still pending approval in the senate i believe and is a couple of months away from happening at least.

We got our family insurance thru a local agent for about $500 a month and being incoporated we can write off some expenses...
