It needs to be interesting enough to make your buyers read it and relevant enough for search engines to rank it.

Don't write about why people should use you. People are not looking for you they are looking for real estate. Talk about real estate. That is what consumers are looking for and therefore that is what the search engines are trying to supply.

Perky_Realtor is correct, the homepage is by far your most important page, as it will be noticed the most by search engines. What's even more important though is the text you put in between your title tags, for that will be the clickable link that search engines will use to list your site. Aside from your title tags though, pretty much everything else (from a tag perspective) is considered obsolete (at least in the eyes of Google). The only other tag that you might want to consider using is the meta keywords tag, for that still has a little validity (but not much).

The description tag is important because that is what shows up as a "snippet" in search engine results. Make sure your description is about 20-40 words or less, and is written in complete sentences. Avoid using "We're the best" or "We're number one." That's malarchy and everyone knows it, plus some directories like DMOZ really weigh the relevance of a site based on the description.

Honestly you need to just google "SEO 101" and read a few pages and get the feel for what search engines look for. Write your home page around that.

Make sure you put your main keywords within well written natural text on your homepage. Don't make it spammy but make sure you include as many main keywords as possible.
