What is your experience? How many companies? How large is your service area? You are likely in an area already saturated by agents doing bpos. Most of us have spent months or years cultivating these relationships, and have considerable traditional real estate experience. There are a ton of factors that go into this crazy BPO world, so you can answer your question better than we can by researching your own market and reading the posts here.
Start by searching your MLS for REO properties and look at how many different agents are listing them and how long they have been doing it. That can reveal alot.
It takes a lot of time to bump off agents who already have established relationships. There is not an unlimited supply of orders so you have to wait your turn! The holidays are a great opportunity for newbies if you are willing to work through Christmas. Hope that your areas primary agents are leaving town and you may catch some orders then. Good luck, and just be patient.

I only get consistent work from 1/4 of the companies Ive signed up with..as the consensus here has said...theres alot of agents vying for the same work. Dont let your"normal" realty work suffer while you click all day...make good use of your time for both finding new bpo companies and stirring your realty pot....

wasnt really making fun of you ...just being light with the subject. Seriously I think certain people who shall remain nameless dont take the quality part seriously.they just insert whatever they think the qc expects...not realizing how much their poorly done job can affect things...make life harder for all of us then

I was signed up with companies for months before I got my first BPO, even after that it was a few more weeks before I even got another one.
I can't explain why it takes so long to get that first BPO assignment, but it just does.

Sign up with more companies. Check out the companies on here before you learn the hard way, like may of us, that there are a lot of companies like "Coast to Coast" that don't pay. Clear Capital, BPO Direct, Land America all seem to email me alot with requests. I have gotten away from BPOs, but there are alot to do.

It took me months to get the first BPO after I signed up with the first 10-15 companies.
I know people on this board are gonna rip me to shreads for going against honesty, but I never would say completed only 1, 2, or 0 BPO's when signing up, even if it's true.
How Many BPOs have you completed in the past 12 months? 0... Why sign up with a company with an answer like that?
I don't have to worry because I've been doing BPOs long enough that I don't have to make anything up (usually), but if I can do the BPO up to QC standards, it shouldn't matter how many I've done in the past, or how long I've been doing them.

I agree with Agent's point, but you don't even have to lie. Sunset's been in the RE business for 3 years. I hope s/he has done a bunch of CMAs or priced some homes for potential listings. A BPO is basicaly the same thing. When I signed up for my first BPO company I had already done a bunch of price opinions for buyers and investors. Sunset, you need to sign up for as many more companies as you can find. I tried to sign up for 5 a day until business started flowing in. Good luck. Fresno area is booming in REOs so the biz is there.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
