Hello everyone I am a broker in Central California near Fresno. I signed up on a few sites and have not got a request. Am I doing somthing wrong? I have not got anything. Should I start calling the reps? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Merry Christmas.

What is your experience? How many companies? How large is your service area? You are likely in an area already saturated by agents doing bpos. Most of us have spent months or years cultivating these relationships, and have considerable traditional real estate experience. There are a ton of factors that go into this crazy BPO world, so you can answer your question better than we can by researching your own market and reading the posts here.

Start by searching your MLS for REO properties and look at how many different agents are listing them and how long they have been doing it. That can reveal alot.

It takes a lot of time to bump off agents who already have established relationships. There is not an unlimited supply of orders so you have to wait your turn! The holidays are a great opportunity for newbies if you are willing to work through Christmas. Hope that your areas primary agents are leaving town and you may catch some orders then. Good luck, and just be patient.

I am going to venture a guess that you JUST signed up.

Fresno is rife with defaulted properties, so there will be BPOs, but it takes a while to start getting orders, sometimes months.

Companies already have agents that they really like who are preforming the orders, you have to wait until they can't take one or are too busy until you get your first shot. Once you prove yourself you will slowly get more.

I only get consistent work from 1/4 of the companies Ive signed up with..as the consensus here has said...theres alot of agents vying for the same work.
Dont let your"normal" realty work suffer while you click all day...make good use of your time for both finding new bpo companies and stirring your realty pot....

it takes time! usually at least 30 days before a company even accepts your application...then a while longer before they have one in your area that their current reps dont want to do....

some companies have thousands of applications to go through...maybe you are number 3245...its gonna be a while...

be patient youll get one soon...just make sure and do it really good or you wont get anymore.

he stopped me and actually made fun of me...he was like you can read...im so glad, i dont know what i would have done if you couldnt read

wasnt really making fun of you ...just being light with the subject.
Seriously I think certain people who shall remain nameless dont take the quality part seriously.they just insert whatever they think the qc expects...not realizing how much their poorly done job can affect things...make life harder for all of us then

Think of it this way......

You submit your app and wait. Most bpo mills briadcast out or sends most of the work to the highest rated agent. This means you will get the lower paying hard to comp bpo's most of the time as the highest ranked agent send the junk on down the line.

I started out with the junk years ago.Now the really hard ones I send it on down the line and don't accept because the har dones do not pay anymore money. The only time I do them is if a newbie really screwed something up and then I ask for alot higher fee. They usually call me back and say ok.

Keep at it you will get you chance eventually.Just remember if you turn in crap and late you will always be the last to get nay orders. What I do is if they ask for 2 or 3 photos I take a few more and submit the bpo.It provides more value and only takes a few seconds to do.

Yes I just signed up this week. I have been doing real estate full time for the past 3 years so I got plenty of experience running comps, etc. Don't worry if I do get a bpo order I will not overprice it. I hear alot of the newer bpo agents overprice their properties. I have signed up with ocwen and reotrans. I hope I can get at least one soon. God bless you all and much success.

I was signed up with companies for months before I got my first BPO, even after that it was a few more weeks before I even got another one.

I can't explain why it takes so long to get that first BPO assignment, but it just does.

Sunset,

I've only been in this "racket" for about 4 months. I am also in California, about 3 hours south of you. I didn't get many orders for about 30 days, it got busy in November and has been dead in December. I can't find any rhyme or reason, that's just how it has been for me. Some folks on here are busy, some are slow and my BPO business is dead.

I do have some pre-listings though, so that makes my month! Hang in there for "if you apply they will come..."

Sunset,

Check your zips and area coverage. Expand it to largest you can service.
