Hello everyone! New agent here. I just found this forum and it is fantastic! I am learning the ropes in the Internet marketing arena and have a question: Has anyone tried a site called FLSDirect.com? I came across them on CraigsList.com and think they look pretty darn good for a free site. Like, maybe too good, if you know what I mean. Is there a drawback to using a free listing site like this, or is more marketing always better? I also read that getting external links to your website helps with search engines and the fls one lets you link back. Thanks in advance! ~CC

As a relative newcomer here as well, it's interesting reading.

As far as FLSDirect.com go, I would agree it looks OK, if it's free to list, two things spring to mind, first is lead capture or secondly selling advertising space. Plus looks like you would have to post each listing manually.

A site that might interest you would be Point2 Agent. (i am biased I have one)Free to start apart from domain name. This site/your domain can list free in about 17 websites automatically (these include Google Base, Yahoo, Trulia, Zillow etc.)

Thank you for the advice Alan. I already have a website that features my listings from the IDX feed. I opted out of the cookie cutter type sites and paid a web designer for a custom site. The free listing site I mentioned is just for extra exposure. My thinking is that the more exposure for each listing, the better! If you can get some for free, that is beautiful! I did put a listing on the FLSDirect.com site this afternoon and it really was free. I get emails whenever anyone is interested in my listing. I'll post back here if I get any good leads from them. A tip I was given by Bigtoe and GringoBob is to add a link to your website on your signiture for this forum. See under "my stuff" & "Profile".

Another free website that is well known and free to post is Craigslist.com.

And just because I have now mentioned three people on this forum in two posts I'll add Doug who has given me some good comments.
