SEO speaking, I was told that you should have something in your URL referring to the area in which you specialize. A good strategy would be two sites, one that is all about the area in which you work with a blog, area info, business' in the area etc with a "Featured Real Estate Expert section with your contact info. In your contact info you should have a link to whats called a "Business Card" site all about you.
Another technique was to have a number in your URL. If I was a consumer looking to buy a home in Houston I would look up "Houston Texas homes under 340,000". You having a number in your URL is supposed to rank you higher than something that doesn't.
I think the
http://www.yourname.com is bogus because nobody cares about you. Sounds harsh, but they don't know you so why would they remember your name unless it was a memorable name? This kind of URL would work well with your past clients, but I assume that you want to gain new clients from your new site. Name it something that entices them, like
http://www.houstonsbestdeals.com which is already taken by an agent. Call that guy and ask him how many deals he receives from the net.
That being said, I like Markthatproperty because it has a twist and would be memorable. I also like the trademarkrealtor one, but it could confuse a consumer. The less confusing the better. I am not in SEO and it is all something that I heard from a salesperson trying to close me on a website, but who knows?
