Hello, I just finished all of my classes and am now preparing to take my exam. I am looking for a good study guide/book to use with my preparation. There are so many out there, though!!!!!! Has anyone here used a particular book or study guide and found it very helpful, with practice questions from the exam or close to it?

I have been looking at Learning Express California Real Estate Sales Exam, 2nd Edition, and also California Real Estate Exam Guide, by Minnie Lush.......

Are there any study guides geared toward the actual test you will take? For instance, my exam was from PCI, so I looked for PCI study guides.

What state are you in? the Hondros crammer guide helped me pass the first time. I'm not sure if that's in your state or not. I'm in Ohio.

I heard the Real Estate Practice Flashcards are pretty helpful - though I haven't managed to locate a set within my budget (local school charges $70). Info about the flashcards from the publisher is:

Back when I attended RE school, I made up my own flashcards. Just notecards. I learned as much writing them up and putting the answers on the back as I did studying them. I just went through the book and study guide and made the cards up as I went along. Several people have borrowed the cards since then, don't know why they didn't make up their own. I studied every spare moment and carried the books around with me everywhere. The cards were just handy.

Good idea RealTgalKY. I think I'll get started on mine tonight. PCI gives you a list of topics covered, so shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for the tip.

Also, public libraries have websites that help you study for all kinds of exams, RE is one of them.

I'm not too proud to admit I read " RE Licensing Exams for Dummies" and it helped me a lot.

I also used licensetutor.com and LOVED it! Passed the first time here, too. \:\)

I've been using the Minnie Lush on-line video tutorial. It's a slow process. I had gone to day one of her seminar a few months ago, but didn't go to the second day because I had only just started the classes. Now I wish I had gone for day 2.

Why not take the exam first before paying more for a prep course. Do you feel that you did not get the info needed to pass the exam?

The prep course was included in the price of my classes. I'm taking full advantage of everything that was offered to me.
