Auburn, I also hate it when people use the word Duel instead of Dual.

Example:
"ALL WINDOWS ARE DUEL PANE!!"

But if it says Duel Pain... maybe they got a sword stuck where it don't belong.

This reminds me of the time I was at a realtor event in a model home of a budget builder. We were laughing so hard because a couple of the light switch plates had those thingies on them that say "upgrade." Really plain switch covers too.

Turns out they were extra light switches over and above what would normally come in the house.

How about "homely" home. Or, I like the crown molding instead of moulding.

For crown moulding, it's moulding. To make a key in wax you'd use a mold. Confusing I know but true nonetheless. Now if I could just preach it to the *!?*** here I'd be in heaven.

Noun 1. moulding - a decorative strip used for ornamentation or finishing

How about...

"There are no water problems in the basement because there is no basement!"

Actually, a friend of mine came up with that one and uses it all the time. I told her how dumb and corny it is and she still uses it. In fact, I just saw that her broker is using it now as well.

How about "a great house that appears larger than it is"

Well in the end, its still a small house!!

I closed on a house yesterday that was' totally updated and adorable' when in fact it had beat up countertops, old mismatching applicances, hardwood floors refinished but didnt appear that the seller removed furniture from the rooms when the floors were done, the most disguting light fixtures, light switches not installed properly, mismatching wood moldings, very cheap and ugly home depot special carpeting, and the whole interior was faux painted.

This was not in the MLS. It was a sign in a prestigious hotel that was hosting an event for agents.

Here's one I just ran across. It proclaims thusly: "New brain documented Roof". Say WHAT? That really had me stumped, till I notice further down, "brain new carpet". OH..... Now I get it..... it's a brand new documented pig latin roof! What will they think of next?

I'll just bet that assistants key a lot of this stuff in and the agent never even proofs it.
