There's a house for sale near me right on a main highway. The listing agent has added one of those signs like a restaurant would have listing their specials to add some details about the house. For the past two weeks the signs says "Owner says sell it now" I'm waiting for it to change to "Sell it later"
By the way, this place has been for sale since 2006 and I think this listing agent is the 4th or 5th one. The only good thing is that every time it relists the new agent has a borker open house - Can You Say Free Lunch??

Ok here's one I found today, maybe not stupid, but a little funny.
"Please be careful not to let the 2 miniature Shelties escape & if you are a man wearing a leather jacket of any kind - leave in your vehicle - Missy (the female Sheltie) doesn't like men in leather."

Classic stupidity.
A guy in our office posted the combo code in the public remarks section. The tenant is a deputy sheriff.

I went to check a new REO listing, across the street is a house for sale with a large franchise real estate company and he has one of the stupid riders on top of his sign "Honey, stop the car" the house looks like it has been abandoned, grass and weeds 6 feet tall. moldy driveway infested with weeds. Should say "honey, stop the car wtf is that" Next time I go there I am going to get a picture, it is funny.

By the way, when did "Price Reduced" sign riders become "New Price"? That seems to be the current rage locally. It would be better to have a sign rider that said: "Owner is an idiot, insisted I list the house at a ridiculous high price, finally came to his senses but is still 5 or 6% too high"

I spotted a rider the other day "Now an even better deal" or words to that effect.

"Has A/C unit for cooling".
So THAT'S what those A/C units are for!
This from a listing in the desert.

From a comp. last night... this one hit me 2 ways...
"baby at home, call for an appt. mom almost always home"
1. I know what the agent meant... but is the mom sometimes not home and the baby is? :-)
2. I really do not like having comments about babies or children and never include a picture that would indicate that there are ANY children in the home... not even a swing set. There are too many scary people out there. Thankfully with REO's it's not an issue, yay!

Not a stupid MLS comment, but a stupid street name: Liniment Street...this for a lakefront property on a private cove. Anyone familiar with horses knows liniment as a medicinal solution with a pungent aroma for rubbing on sore horses' legs. Duh.....

Advertising mom is home alone with a baby or toddler is a terrible idea! Simple enough to say: "Someone usually available but please call first". Even if it's in the "agent only" section I have seen hundreds of MLS print outs which were not scrubbed by the agents who handed them out & the agent remarks were visible to the potential buyers.

An REO agent in our area has 50 active listings with identical marketing remarks: "This property has many great qualities."
Our MLS spell check used to suggest 'recession', so agents would note by status, "Active, pending recession" rather than pending rescission.
The remolded houses always crack me up...
