Okay, so those of us who do BPOs obviously see a lot more of the MLS than your average agent.

Have you guys noticed some of the ridiculous comments in the MLS?

Practically every other listing says "Quite street"... Hmm, so it is quite a street, or is it QUIET, like there is an absence of noise?

I just ran accross this gem, "TENANT IS LIVING. PLEASE CALL LISTING AGENT"

Well thank god, because if the tenant was dead I highly doubt anyone would be interested in viewing the house.

Anyone have any good ones?

How about this in a $1 mil listing - beautiful bridle staircase. Unless the staircase is meant for horses, I'm pretty sure they meant BRIDAL.

I found this one today "two hot wate tans". It took me a minute to figure out she meant 2 hot water tanks.

I think my favorite of all times was one that I saw on a double in a pretty bad area that had been withdrawn. It said "crack heads burned down my listing".

I always see "rod iron" instead of "wrought iron."

I HATE when people mess up wrought iron.

The first time I saw "Rod Iron" I thought it was something I hadn't heard of and called the agent to see what it was.. how embarassing, they were just a bad speller and I looked like the dummy

My all time favorite was the comment "Perfect for a large mother-in-law" on a listing a few years ago. Either you had to have an obese mother in law or they left out the word "Suite".

Reading the comments section in our MLS is not only a challenge but a sad indicator of how clueless our peers are!

Here are but a few of my favorites. Yes, idiots have actually (mis)used them in the comments section:

I think at least half, if not more, of the edits I have done to my postings on this forum have been to correct spelling after I re-read what I just posted. I'm sure I missed many errors also.

At least some of the problems come from poor attempts to abbreviate words (particularly where the comment field has a restricted length).

I always like corean counters and purgo floors.

I always like the "hurry, this one will go fast" type of comments... invariably on the 200 day old listings.

We've got another guy that starts all his with "This house will sell"... Maybe he's got a positive mental attitude coach or something.

MY FAVORITE....I tried to find the listing so I could quote it exactly, but couldn't find it. Anyway, it went something like this....

Enjoy summers on the back deck with friends or if you don't have any friends, just hang out by yourself.
