Depending on the contents...I receive 3-4 newsletter in my mail box. Some agents farm and some are just testing the market. I would recommend:
*Check who else sends newsletter in the area
* Company who will design, print & mail check for the content. Ask them to email you archived mail.
** Are you just going to mail or have the newsletter on your website also
** My broker does a standard newsletter with a local company. I have 3 managing broker who writes articles for the newsletter. Its great because its originial and show lots of expierence.Information in most to current local market.

Good Luck

They work. I'm just starting to see the fruits of my labour now. I sent out my own newsletter that I wrote, published and mailed myself.
I did an OH today and one customer walked into the OH with my newsletter, specifically wanting to talk to me about listing his home.
I haven't locked it up yet but that's a good sign.
I'm planning on doing one every month. It's definitely not cheap but I think it'll work well in the long run.

Thanks,
Cliff

buffini publishes them, but they are expensive and their are thousands of companies that will mail them automatically every month.

From my experience over a few years, the very best way to use newsletters is as a followup to people you know, or have talked with. I've called many homes in my area, chatted with them, and have put them down for both an electronic and hard copy newsletter. But IMO, a newsletter that comes from somebody I don't know gets trashed very quickly.

sent out my first issue and a few days later there seemed to be a buzz. Had people calling me that i have not talked to in awhile. Seems like I may benefit from this. Unfortunately it takes a little work up front but so far had two people call me with real estate related ?s beginning to brand myself as "the expert" hope this helps other agents considering newsletters

Craig Forte has a newsletter which I think is a good one. But they will tell you newletters are for SOI, not farming. They should be used for people who already know you, to maintain the client base.

I have been sending a 1 pg newsletter I created for 4 months now I average 3 calls a month from my sphere of 300. It has RE market news ( shows i'm the expert) my lisitngs & solds & under agreement ( shows I am active) has 2 home related articles last was on Carbon monoxide & saving money on gas.
A recipe - so the newsletter may hang around and my photo & contact also send it to a farm of 600- no response, before the newsletter I sent post cards & got 1 call a month. I print it on a FREE Xerox printer- for more info e-mail me at kmcookie39@aol.com

Newsletters work but you have to send them out on a regular basis. My wife (licensed assistant)designs ours and we send them out every quarter to about 2000 people and usually get 2-3 listings from each.
