I will be moving to a new area. The bldg is working with another service provider so I will not be able to move my bellsouth account. I called bellsouth & they told me I could keep my old email by paying for the cheapest service which is dial up. What have you guys done in cases like this? Do you change your email or just pay the extra to keep it.

Thanks.

i don't use email from a company that isn't my own. get a yahoo account at the very least (it's free). Ideally you should have a website and get your email through that webhost (zoila@zmiamirealestate.com, perhaps?)...that way you're not tied to an ISP, and also help to increase your brand awareness.

You're also not tied to a company and you are advertising your real estate site with every e-mail. Make sure that every e-mail you send is using that e=mail address too ... you never know if the person you are inquiring with a personal problem will need to sell her home and because you used your business e-mail she knows you're in RE.

I agree with ManFromTheBand, if you can grab yourself a domain name and set up an email account through it, that would be your best option. In case that can't work out though, I'd recommend just getting a gmail account. It has the best Spam filters I have ever seen. I've had a gmail account for over 2 years now and out of all the spam messages I receive (anywhere from 5-25 daily), I think only 3 of them actually got to my Inbox. Very nice.

You can get very reasonable domain name registration with email capabilities from http://www.globat.com or http://www.godaddy.com. I currently use both but am switching over to godaddy exclusively. Each has their nitch.
