I am potentially interested in becoming a real estate agent in Ontario but do not have the basic knowledge about the industry. I'm looking for a good read that could teach me the fundamental ins and outs of Canadian real estate.

I would recommend "bought not sold" it spells out the future for the real estate industry. If you read it you might come to the conclusion the real estate biz will not be the "same as it is now" for long. He is one of the most insightful writers about this industry. You can get it on Amazon. The main question his book brings up is how long will buyers continue to pay for services provide for people that don't buy.
