The lot that I rent to keep my house on has a storage shed, in which I kept some of my personal belongings. Unfortunately, the storage shed was struck by lightning and caught on fire. You had no renters insurance so you are out of luck. The Owner is not responsible for your personal belongings.

The incremental annual costs of a renters policy couldn't be more than you spend on pedicures or jack daniels. Totally money well spent moving forward. Every major carrier Farmers, Travelers, State Farm an the rest all offer policies. Price it out. Lighting does strike twice in the same place.
