Hello;
When one wants to optimize their website for a search engine, they must realize that a computer uses simple formulas to rate a site.
They key to success is to have approx 15 top keywords each with a ocmma seperator. You also nned to have the title somehow refelct the keywords as well. LAstly make sure that the text which is written in the HTML has man of those keywords listed in the content.
Do not repaeat to try ot trick the computer or you will be penalized.
The last thing you need ot do is to have a library of free stuff written in plain html or pdf which computer robots can search which also have references to your keywords.

Thanks for the information. I paid someone to do my website for me, and now they are just not doing anything. I hate when that happens.

Those are some great points when it comes to SEO, TaxFree. I would just like to add a couple of tips that I have picked up through the years. - If your web host doesn't rename your uploaded images and/or files than you should use your keywords & phrases in those names.
- Be sure to include your keywords and/or phrases in the alternate text (or hidden descriptions) of your images.
I hope this helps in addition to all of the other information you are sure to receive from the members of this forum!

You can have the optimal coding, keyword density and all the other numerous criteria of the #1 sites for your targeted phrases and that in and of itself will not get you past page 1000 .... Now more than ever after the onsite work is done ....then the handpicked manual and careful backlink building campaign applies... IMHO

Thanks for the information. I paid someone to do my website for me, and now they are just not doing anything. I hate when that happens. I am sorry to hear that. I have heard this complaint more often than I can tell you. At any rate, are you trying to do this yourself now? If you are I have some pointers, tutorials, tips and many things I have written ... I will be happy to point you in the right direction. Let me know how I can help! (Good picture, by the way.) PM me or email if you like!

Wow, I have never heard "simple" included in a description of the algorithms used by the major search engines. Moreover, it is my understanding that the keyword Meta tag has been almost completely devalued. Additionally, link farms can get you dropped from most search engines. The major search engines use extremely sophisticated algoritms to determine organic search rankings. Beyond that, they don't really publicize them, so nobody really knows 100% what works. Now there are people/companies out there that have gotten very good at determining this info, but bottom line; no guarantees ... Besides, they are constantly changing the parameters. Google reshuffles it's organic results periodically. The reassigning of ranking is called the "Google Dance" and really keeps the SEO guys off balance ... If SEO is all you are concerned with, then simply build a good site and use as much text as you can. Use your keywords/phrases, but don't overuse them. Considering the competition is fierce and the sites you will need to beat out number in the hundreds of millions, you may consider a pay per click program. If you would like, read these articles. I will write more soon specifically regarding organic listings and SEO. Here's the article, I do hope you take a look at it, email me with questions ... Marketing Tips

the silver bullet in my opinion is links back to your web site... No truer words have been spoken. HOWEVER, there are some things you should be aware of: 1.) Google considers the ranking of the site linking to you. If CNN.com links to you it carries more weight then if someobscurerealtylinksite.com links to you. 2.) If the number of links (in comparison to other content) is too high Google tags the site as a "Link Farm". Having a link to your site on a "Link Farm" will actually DECREASE your ranking. 3.) Multiple links from one site may be considered as one link. It is possible, if the content is original enough between pages that it may be more. I am not 100% on this and it seems to change. 4.) Self links don't seem to count. 5.) Links from other domains that you own are devalued. For instance, if you have more then one domain and you link one domain to the other, it doesn't get as much credit. 6.) No matter what is said, it may change next week at Google's discretion. 7.) You best bet is to make the site as unique and informative as you can. Link Popularity is a huge factor in determining link popularity, but the word from Google itself is, just make a good site. That is the quickest way to the top. You can see how many sites link to you by visiting this link RealEstateTechOnline.com Link Popularity (courtesy of marketleap.com)Good luck!

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
