Go to http://realestate.about.com and start with some of the courses at http://realestate.about.com/library/blcourses.htm. Hundreds of pages of free training.

Hi Jim,
I was wondering if you would be so kind as to start a post on http://www.agentsonline.net of your blog posts as it pertains to this site. I know you have had plenty of arguments with others on this site so I will spare us both the headaches. I think it would only be fair and prudent if you would let the person whom you quote, or at least indicate the topic you found your inspiration from for one of your blog entries, know that you have posted something in response to their post. I have had a discussion unnecessarily interrupted because the arguer was afraid of what you might twist.
I personally have absolutely nothing to hide and I post the same things I would say in person, but it isn't a very fun site when you have to worry about what you say out of fear that it will be misconstrued. Just a thought...

Now, back to the topic at hand... Marcus, here is the best piece of advise I can give you; http://www.mortgagemarketguide.com

If you want to make this a full time career and not just a side job then you need this. You can pay monthly and that runs you about 100.00 or annually for about 800.00. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Fair request Adam. However, let me take minor difference to a couple of words you used. I neither twisted nor misconstrued anything in the thread. The quotes are there for all to read and interpret as they please. My interpretation was stated and based on quotes of one or more of those posting in the thread. I don't think I entered into an argument with anyone. In my blog post I also congratulated those in the thread that came down on the side of the buyers instead of fattening the wallet of the agent. I also received some private positive responses.

Some very outrageous answers to a fair question put us all in a bad light. I will confess to being very sensitive to public displays that make me ashamed to call myself a RealtorŪ at times. That was one such display, and this is a public forum. When I read threads like that one, I wish it was not. Buddha said "You must leave righteous ways behind not to speak of unrighteous ways." I'm not Buddhist, nor anywhere near perfect, but sometimes my righteous indignation takes over when it comes to business ethics.

However, all that said, I think I gave it more exposure than it deserved. I will continue to post helpful answers to questions here from those who are trying to learn the business. However, I will not be publicizing problem threads like that one again, as it only gives them more exposure. Tell your interrupted discussion participant to feel free to post anything they desire. If I don't like it, I'll just punch a pillow, as arguments about ethics rarely accomplish anything after about the age of 9 anyway.

It seems like you and I have something in common, we don't stand idly by while something that looks underhanded and suspicious is going on, nor do we let our beliefs get trampled. It is good to see someone else that is not ashamed to stand for something. I can appreciate that. Thanks.

And I appreciate your comments. I did mean what I said, and will not be publicizing threads here in any other venue. Thanks Adam.

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
