That "Z" form is ridiculous. The only thing they dont ask for on there is for my first born and a pint of blood.

I returned home today and recieved a call from someone wanting to know why I was taking pictures of her house yesterday. I thought I was being followed but it wasn't any of the cars in her driveway. Come to find out it was the neighbor that saw me takeing the pictures and decided to get my tag #. I tried to have DMV run the tag # of a car parked in my own driveway and they told me it was private info.

Freaky.. Oh well, at least they didn't show up on your door step. They probably knew a cop or something.

Texas Gal, If they stop me or call me, I always tell them "You know how when you get your mortgage and the bank sells it to some one else right away, Well you might get a letter that says they are reassigning it to someone else but dont' worry everything stays the same you just might mail your payment to a different company." Or I say, Do you remember when you went to your last closing, and the closer told you that the mortgage company might verify your information. Well they are just making sure the appraisal pictures are right. They usally laugh and say ok. Easy as pie! I didn't tell them anything and they are put at ease. How many times have you seen a order that says Aquisition of performing loans? Happens every day. Could be that's what the pictures for, most companies dont' tell. Either way the person ask is fine.

Okay, you may have a situation where you can go to the police officer's superior. If he ran the plate and gave it to a civilian, that is not good. That is how people get killed...an irresponsible police officer. Thank goodness there are very few of them around. And the police can tell who ran what, if I have learned anything from my NYPD Blue episodes (joke). If he ran your plate, he should have been the one to approach you. That would have been appropriate and understandable, and is the way it is supposed to be done, IMHO, unless a police officer tells me differently. Anyone here related to a police officer? If so, please ask him.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
