Im new to the real estate thing and dont know much. Im 29 yrs old and looking to invest in 2 rental proberties. I have rougly $130,000 to invest. Knowing nothing about real estate i need some guidance before making a move. I would like to buy in the Greater Toronto area.Questions
1. Would i have trouble renting my house?
1. Should i buy new?
2. What size homes ?
3. Single/Semis? Townhomes?
Any advice or tips to get me in the right path would greatly be appreciated? Thanks

If you are buying in Toronto I would be pleased to talk with you privately. Many of your issues are self answerable see the reply in the other forum you posted in.
I am very positve about Barrie I sold one there for 259,000 detached 4 years old nice house tenant at 1500 per month, the numbers work.
Maybe an older condo 275,000 will get you 1600 square foot 3 bedroom in a great building near square one. Rent is almost 1800 per month.

If you want a property that will appreciate in value and still leave you a positive monthly cash flow you should look into the Durham Region area. Oshawa is booming, prices are rising steadily and houses are still affordable so you can make a wise long term investment and still put some cash in your pockets every month.

Rents in the GTA are low compared to your monthly expenses. Rather than buying 1 unit in the GTA for your money you may want to look outside of Toronto like Niagara or Hamilton. The same money could get you a multi-unit buidling with only slightly lower rents. Your cap rate would be much higher.
