I live in Northern California and would like to advertise out of the area in the LA and the SF Bay Area. My question is...what print publications should I put my $ into? Someone I work with mentioned Diablo Magazine (for the Bay Area). Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Take your time. you are looking for direct response. i would stay with homes and land type of publications. ask for media kits from all. distribution should be a major factor. not only how many copies????? but where and when. color or black and white. are you looking at a full page ad or something a little smaller?????
