I used to work for Coldwell Banker, then I decided I should look for an office closer to home. Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer was right down the street, so I decided I should at least do an interview.
I interviewed the office manager there and a few days later decided to leave Coldwell Banker for Howard Hanna.
I called the manager, we made an appointment to meet and transfer my license, and I told him I would inform Coldwell Banker I would be leaving, and they sent my license back to the state.
15 minutes before our appointment, the office manager calls and says Howard Hanna told him he can't recruit anymore agents, and then I was stuck with no company and a license on deposit.
I ended up finding a company called The Sweda Group, LLC close to home, but I was really pissed off. All managers and agents I've talked to said they never heard of a manager turning away somone who wanted to work for their company. I also thought it was very unprofessional for him to call me with that short of notice after telling me to quit my other company.
Would a company tell a manager not to recruit?
