Being an Expert is relative in SEO. I am by far not an expert. Everyday around 4-5pm our agency “expert” comes over and sits down to shoot the bleep, with all us newbie SEM/SEO’s. Well mainly me probably because I have a ongoing deal, that I will buy him lunch if he lets me ask him any question I have, and we have developed a big brother little brother friendship (he likes to pick on me and throw plastic darts at the back of my head from across the office). Anyway, many in the industry consider him an expert, but even he admits there is much more to learn. But I don’t consider him a top expert, because in my opinion any top expert at SEO, wouldn’t be working, or even posting to forums, rather they would be sipping margaritas in the Bahamas while one of their many sites rake in the cash. I know allot about SEO sure, but I am not an expert. I do guarantee I know more than just about anyone on this forum other than maybe the forum admin, and some of the other people trying to provide service who I am sure will charge you allot more than $35 dollars an hour, and if they don’t, they are definitely not an expert. As yes, I am too busy to fully SEO my own site(s) (yes sites …last time I checked I had about 20). Homesinpb.com is only still up because I am ranked higher than my old boss at homes.com which is amusing to me since it was a template site I scraped from their servers before my last day when they shut the original template site down. This was even though I asked if I could pay for it monthly but was denied. Remember, I was let go because I PUSHED THE BOSSES TOO HARD TO IMPROVE SEO TECHNIQUES, or maybe it was my arrogance…. jk GYNOT (my fist SEO’d site), was actually started only as a tool for the sales reps at homes.com to use to demonstrate keyword search volume when the SEObook tool was heavily pinged. Also, it was mainly for SEM, I never had a chance to fully SEO it myself because I have been too busy learning from people who know much more than I. If you must know my job title is SEM Specialist where I manage approx a $1000 total daily spend for a major virus software provider, and a smaller Computer Services Provider, but thanks to my ongoing lunch offer, in the near future hopefully I will be switching over to be an official SEO specialist. Like I said, I am not an expert, but I am learning fast. I am for hire but I am very busy lately….so busy I had to hire a Brazilian assistant (why not India? I just like Brazilians that’s why) to help me out for my side projects, and because I am so busy I wont take any work now for less than $45 per hour.

To much info there.. In a big biz world, that is not how people (at least who I deal with / know) would like to know when they will be paying big $ for a service that will generate leads for them. They want a expert, not a experts office-friend who is still learning. Just my 2c's

Possibly, but I like to share my fun experiences and don't care so much what is PC. That’s why I am in a technical field, and not sales.
The tips he shares with me range from easy tricks that no SEO will tell you, to highly technical techniques beyond the scope of these forums.
They are his tricks of the trade. Some might even call some of them Grey Hat SEO. I call it just knowing what your competitors may be doing so that you can be on an even playing field if you have to be.

yup.. gotta watch the SEO guys... what do they know ... There's good and bad in every trade for sure... I definitely wouldn't sell my own house FSBO... althougn I know a thing or 2 about a thing or 2 ... I think everyone has to do their due diligence and find the right people to build the right network of resources for themselves and then spend their time doing what brings them in the most $ return for their time spent ...

SEO is getting easier with the improvements on Google's part. Are you sure? Or is this just a guess? The real trick is original content, links, and relevance. Sounds like you’ve completed the first week of "SEO 101", congrats. Type in linkdomain:websitename.com and find out what your competitors are doing. Is SEO really that easy? Well I guess this maybe far beyond the scope of this forum. The best way to get good quality SEO is DO YOUR OWN DILIGENCE You think linkdomain is beyond “the scope of this forum” but you want the members of this forum to research SEO on their own? Isnt this a contradiction? and don't listen to guy like ^ Who should they listen to you? ...and if so are you proclaiming your expertise because you have an “ok” ranking on a site mostly because you figured out how to spam low PR pages? What happens if Google updates their algo and devalues your PR for having a disproportionate level of low pr links? Will you send me ANOTHER Private message asking me if their is anything I can recommend you do to your site? OK everyone here is my SEO tip of the day. Spamdexing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spamdexing Spam blogs, forums, social sites, wiki sites, and don’t forget comment spam as you have just witnessed above from PaulNHS

Why not checking Google for:
"real estate portals" "real estate portal" "canada real estate portals" "international real estate portals" "real estate ads"
If you find us in the first 3-4 pages, it might make sense to start using our services.
See you around,

Hey Roberto,
I have seen your website... So lets get serious. I have seen yours as well, templates take me about 5 minutes to install how long did it take you? Do not try to deny you asked me for advice in a personal message a few months ago. Only reason I didn't give you some is because all you wanted to do is brag about how well you thought your site was doing. I found you slightly annoying and a waste of my time, so I never replied after the 2nd or third email. Would you like me to post your emails? how come I never see you on Digital Point or other website that sight point Maybe you have and just don't know it. :P Also, what does "website that sight point" mean? Bad grammar is not the best thing for SEO. Hey just cause people clicked the link to the thread doesn't mean they believe it. Perky. That is a well thought out sophisticated response, I can’t possibly say anything about that.

If you are going to pay, you might as well pay the search engine company directly and use their PPC advertising service. When you sign up with them, you will also have access to all kinds of information on how to maximize you positioning. You can also set your daily/weekly/monthly budget so you know exactly how much you are going to spend. I have had good results with Google http://www.adwords.com and fair/ok results from Yahoo - http://www.overture.com .

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
