Mailing letters is very effective to some, not so much for others. Some Agents love postcards, some wont waste their time.
Personlly, I love letters. I get one listing out of every hundred I send out. That works out to a very good return since 100 letters is only around seventy dollars postage, sttionary and envelope.
Post cards are cheaper (Quantum mail does 100 postcards for $52, I believe) but I dont like them. In my opinion, they are too easy to scan and toss.

Wow, a blantant plug 'discretly' advertised as a helpful hint? Not on this board!
It strikes me funny that someone actually mentioned "cards" and "best kept secret in real estate" in the same paragraph. Wow.

Ouch! Sorry you see it that way... Simply trying to share what has worked and continues to work for me, no harm meant. Yes I tend to get excited, I can't help it! In any event, regarding my comment as "the best kept secret in real estate" I do did not mean the principle of sending cards itself, no big mystery there. Rather, I was commenting on the company itself. Odds are you probably haven't heard of them correct? This is because they and their product are not specific to real so you won't be reading about them in REALTOR Magazine any time soon. That is all that is meant by my comment. As far as plugging products, we are all here to learn, get ideas and help one another right? I will gladly share with others what I believe to be to be helpful no matter what the product is... as long is I have personally used it and can vouch for the success I have personally seen. I think it's great that agents are willing to share their secrets here in the spirit of helping others. Whew... OK, I digress. Good Day to ALL!!! Lamont,
I coach my agents to send meaningful correspondence to their farm. They want people to associate them with real estate. You have to show your prospective customers that you have value. So please, do not send out postcards with apple pie recipes unless you want them to associate your name with food. Send them information on the market. Show them you know what you're doing.
I like newsletters that are centered around what is going on in real estate. You can accomplish this with letters too & it may be more economical.
You must be consistent. You may not see results right away but you need to stick with it for 12 mths & contact them at least 10-12 times.
A good farming strategy can pay off big so good luck!

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
