Please accept my apologies if I am posting in the wrong area.

Quick question I have seen this answered before but just cannot remember which was best and why!

With your blog, is it best to set up the function where the blog entries only show part of the "article" and then have link to read the rest of the story?

What is happening behind the scenes to make this be the better way to set it up?

Well, if you are using another article, do NOT copy and paste that entire article into your blog or you will be violating copyright law. Use a paragraph, then link to the original article.

You want your blog to generate lots of 'google juice'. You need to write a blog that is titled, tagged, and written with Google and other search engines in mind - but write it so that a reader will be interested and engaged and will want to come back.

An excellent book to start with is Realty Blogging.

You need fresh, original, engaging, and relevant content. Or you will just be spinning your wheels in the dirt, going nowhere.

I couldn't find the blogging for dollars either.

I used to watch a show called Dialing for Dollars. Every afternoon they'd have a gerbil race. if they called you and you picked the winning gerbil, you won the jackpot.

That is really messed up Perky...Gerbil racing!

It was the highlight of the afternoon! LOL!!

I think that as your blog grows and the posts pile up, a good way is to have short posts and then link them to the whole article, even if you yourself are the author. People go to a blog and if the first 2 posts bore them, they won't bother reading the rest. Getting a taste of many posts will often help everyone find something they are looking for.

I agree with Mike, that is how I read blogs, If they don't have me in the first paragraph or two I am out of there.

I'm no expert, but...if the topic is relevant to the main theme of your blog I recommend starting them as long posts and then after a few days inserting the "Read More" so you can fit more on to the main page.

If they are fun posts or filler it is better to lead with a headline and a few sentences and let them choose for themselves if they want to read on.
