My mistake when posting was to not word it as well as secret agent as that is really what it comes down to... You have your Full Effort Agents and your Partial Effort agents...

Yes, Secret Agent has a way with words and put all our thoughts in type much better then we did. This is why I like her so much.

I wish I had checked back in sooner. I love all the nice comments!

I think it is the same in RE. If an agent is only doing one or two deals a year, are they really staying proficient? Maybe we should have a minimum performance standard.

How about this?

Who cares if you were part-time or full-time just as long as you return phone calls in a timely manner? As an agent, returning phone calls or emails of other agents is key communication for my business back to my clients. If you took the offer, and never been heard off past 24 hours just to acknowledge that you received it, that's inefficiency in my books. If you are out of reach, state that in your voicemail and out-reply in your email. At least then I would know what to expect.

This could happen to both part-time and full-time agents.

On the other hand, if you are busy attending to returning phone calls and emails of agents and clients during business hours - if you had another job, how fair was it to your current employer who is paying you for the time? That was what killed me, made me really sick to my stomach. I really couldnt live that pretencious lifestyle anymore. I had to do something. I chose real estate. (Just from my perspective). I'm sure others have their own reasons/ situations to justify.

16 hours day? yea right! I think a career in real estate is jus t a part time job, mainly you just have to stay home and pray for a call, and tried to advertise like crazy, and beg everyone to sell their home ect.........i'd work about 3-4 hrs a week and barely come to the office.

Ha.. is this meant to be sarcastic?

I'm a new agent and I pray for my phone to STOP ringing for five minutes so I can get things done.

I agree!! I'm also fairly new, but I have several listings and sales right now. I'm starting to hate hearing my cell phone ringing, it usually means another problem to solve or another hoop to jump through ...just kidding (sort of), keep that ringing!!
