Does anyone have suggestions on which brands has the best update? I am borrowing one from my friend to check it out (Gramin c330) but it does not show many of the newer areas. I mean like 2 years old. I checked to see if there are any updates and the website said no. It works good for my rural BPO's but the new ones stink.

I bought my Magellan late last year. According to their website they are updating maps again in August and do it annually.

There are updates annually. The latest version is version 8. Updates are not free, so your friend may have not wanted to spend the $75.00. If yours (theirs) is 2 years out of date, they are running version 7.

The map updates are available annually at a cost (like Garmin). The POI and stuff like traffic camera locations are updated more frequently, not new addresses & maps.

I'll have to say though, that my next GPS will be a TomTom, even though I currently have a Garmin C320. I want spoken street names and bluetooth.

I didn't mean that all Garmin units didn't, I just kinda like the Tom Tom better after using one & my current Garmin does not have those features.
