I am hosting a couple of open houses this weekend and thought about having some comment cards printed up and asking those who attend to fill them out for me. I thought about having one side be a comment card about the house and the other side a questionairre about the potential buyer. I thought this would help me interact with the guests and lead to new contacts and potential buyers. What do you all think? Has anyone done anything similar? If so, what should the card say?

Might work...if the questionnaire had checklists for each room, maybe... with a line for them to write any comments they might have

Kitchen
Counter Space: enough, not enough, too much (no woman would ever say that. lol)
Cabinets: A) appearance: Rate from 1-10 or something B) amount...enough, not enough, etc.
Floor: Rate from 1-10.
Appliances
Etc.

Then do the same for the other rooms. Then have an overall rating or something.

Then I would just ask if you can contact them about this or other properties, yes or no, and leave a space for their phone number and email.

That's what I would do...maybe. Then cut the contact info off and hand all the feedback sheets, minus names and numbers, to the seller later with instant feedback from clients.

Don't knock yourself out, just ask your local favorite title company for a free open house guestbook - they usually always have space for comments.

My best way to get them to fill the damn thing out is to offer a Starbucks giftcard ($25) to a randomly selected winner and then deliver it in person.

Keep it simple.

You will get alot of bogus contact info. Maybe you can get them to put real info if you offered a gift certificate. collect info and randomly draw.

Yeah, I was thinking home depot or for a restaurant. I would like a Starbucks giftcard, but alot of people dont like Starbucks.

I did the gift card for several months. I got lots of contact information. Then I got lots of request to be removed from my mailing lists. Maybe it's an area thing.

Celina, go away.

On to the subject:

I found, in my other life, that bribing people to sign your book usually gets people who sign up only for the bribe, or they give you fake info.

If you make it totally voluntary on their part, without any hooks or gifts, then you will get people who really want to hear from you.
