Just curious, as it seems like people are still investing a fair bit of effort into this. Anyone made a commission yet or even put a property under contract due to this?

In my listing presentation I have a description of internet marketing that I do, and i put it on that list... Not that it makes a difference though...

The only direct result I've had from Activerain is more spam \:\(

Activerain.com isn't a bad thing.

I've tracked.....12 hits or so from them to my website (Live people , not bots). I don't think i've specificly captured anyone from it , but I really can't tell , when a buyer/seller says "oh , we saw you on the internet" I'm pretty happy with something i did working. Right now , they're the only representation I have on google (2nd page of real estate searches).

Some of the Rainers claim to have received business because of it.

I've received some business from being on here too so you never really know.

I am tracking some activity to my website from ActiveRain but I can't tell if it's potential customers or other Realtors.

I have learned a lot about blogging that insprired me to start a real blog, www.KnoxvilleTennesseeRealEstateBlog.com that I feel will improve my search engine rankings.

If you want to join up I can use the points. :p

On active rain, I am ranked number 1 in my city and number 2 in my county... something like number 25 in my state.

I do a daily break-down of visits to my site that tells me how they got to my site. I see maybe 4 visitors to my site a week from my active rain participation. I have not gotten 1 call or email that has generated anything.

However, on my site I make it pretty clear I am currently on sabbatical.

I also track everywhere they visit on my site and they do tend to poke around longer and read my articles. So who knows.

The bottom line is that it is generating some traffic, and does not take any real extra effort on my part since I am writing things for my real estate site all the time anyway.

I've had hits on my website directly from Active Rain, but the reason I think it has value is that my site pulls up sooner on search engines in Active Rain. It didn't cost me anything and it gets my name out there, so even without any income from them I'm not too upset.

But is that where all my new spam is coming from??? :p

I have been contacted by a Loan Officer from active rain who had a client right in front of hime that I spoke to. The client ended up signing with me but has not found anything yet (4 weeks) I have reffered him to another agent in my office (2 days ago) because I am relocating in a week ( client was aware of this)So we will see were it goes now.
