www.costar.com VS www.loopnet.com not the same. I'm not real familiar with co-star though.

CoStar is more for the real estate agent that works exclusively with commercial property, I have heard it described as the MLS on steriods! lol I have worked with it a little bit and it can do A LOT! But, if you have just one or two clients looking for a bldg than LoopNet is sufficient. If you go to the CoStar website they have great video tutorials about what they do. They will even come and give you a presentation about it. I know of a few Nationwide & even Internationally known Commercial Real Estate Firms that use it. Hope this helps!

I used to use CoStar when I worked for a commercial developer. If all your doing is looking for a commercial building for lease every once in a while, just go with loopnet, CoStar is expensive! CoStar is great however for doing comp searches and overall market knowledge of commercial.

CoStar may not be as expensive as you think. You can get CoStar month to month for $29.95 (no contract). LoopNet's premium membership is $39.95 per month. But, the advantage with LoopNet is you can do 24hr unlimited search for around $30.00. So you can use it only if you have a need with out a month to month fee.

That's right, CoStar has a range of affordable and premium services. The $29.95/month CoStar CMLS product covers for-sale listings. www.costar.com/Products/CommercialMLS/ If you're interested in for-lease listings, Property Professional is the best choice. Visit www.costar.com/Products/Property/ or call 877-7COSTAR (877-726-7827). And it's always free to list your properties with CoStar. Just call 800-613-1303, option 1 and we'll take care of updating your listings from then on. Mark ---------- Mark Alves CoStar Group www.CoStar.com

CoStar has the largest probaly database of commercial buildings in the US not only those are are out on the market for lease or and provides reports by market in terms of available stock aksing rents and other statistics. I believe Loopnet is a different company. Petros http://www.property-investing.org

I offer both on my Atlanta Commercial Real Estate page. I figure between the two local Atlanta MLSs' and Loopnet and Costar, the bases are covered for all Commercial real estate.

Loopnet ranks higher in the search engines than CoStar. Thus more traffic going to the loopnet website. However if CoStar increases their marketing so will their popularity increase. Loopnet is well established site for the commercial real estate business.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
