I got a call from this company and they were trying to pitch me a couple of search terms that they could get my site on Page 1 of the Sponsored ads on Google for $50 month...no contract, no time frame..month to month. I think there is a $79 set up fee. They say they are being hired by Google to sell these search terms to agents with good websites. They say they won't sell that search term to other agents either.

All in all it sounds too good to be true and cheap compared to these other services. They kept talkign about how ethical and honest they are. Yeah, I've heard that before. Has anyone dealt with these folks? What's been your experience?

You can do the same thing yourself using google adwords. Adwords have no setup fee and you can bid just enough to be the last person on page 1 of google for your search terms. Although they are providing a service they are not telling you the complete truth

Yes, it looks like they are just using Adwords. You can do the same thing yourself and all your money would go towards the ad placement.

Also keep in mind that Google doesn't hire anyone to do their marketing for them. They call and send mailers directly. Next time someone says they've been hired by Google or Yahoo, ask them for proof. This happened to me once, and I when I asked, they just hung up on me. Your best best will be to setup your own Google Adwords campaigns. There are plenty of books available for about $20 that will show you how. Good luck!

It is amazing how people make things sound a lot better than they usually are. I bet you there are a lot of Real Estate companies that are paying these fees for something they can do for free themselves.

AdWords is easy to setup and you shouldn't have to pay an external firm to do the work. Similar to those places that will sell your stuff on e-bay and then take a cut of the profit. Those types of services are for people that a) are'nt technically savy b) don't know they can do it themselves c) don't have the time to do it.

All and all you can setup google adwords and be on your way in under a half hour.

I just got the call and was offered the same deal. The pitch to me was that it's different than Adwords because it's not PPC, it's "unlimited clicks and unlimited searches" for the $50/month + 79.95 setup.

Make sure they are not like RedZee.com, which sure, can get you on the top of search results, but only if the surfers have the RedZee toolbar installed. What the tool bar(spyware) does is manipulate the google/yahoo search to show RedZee's ads on top. Very slick.

The only problem for advertisers is, how many people have the RedZee toolbar? What good is it to be at the top when nobody is going to see it?

Google "Redzee Scam" and see what comes up.

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
