Hello I am newbie, I start my real estate class today from Weichert. Are there any Agencies in the DC/MD/VA that is a good firm to work for...I know the big names and I just want to make sure that I interview with a couple when I get my license. Also I am seeing a lot of EXIT signs going up in our area do anyone work for them?

I'm in Alexandria and have to put in a plug for our particular Long and Foster office.

Our managing broker is extremely supportive of new agents, offers one on one training as well as group training at least twice a week, including occasional evening training for dual career agents.

When we went to the new contract, he brought in attorneys from local title companies to go over it (and over it and over it!) and discuss the issues they are seeing frequently. We have some post licensing and continuing ed courses (either free or $10) taught in our office, which is a big time (and money) saver. There is a mentoring program if you want to participate.

I joined up with EXIT not to long ago and I'm loving it here. They have a great training program I'm going through for start up. I'm also looking foward to taking some of the more advanced classes they offer for commercial real estate, REO, Loss mitigation/short sale training. All the people are great and it seems like a very supportive environment, no back stabing and tons of support. They also provide alot of free services that you have to pay for at other franchises.

I'm sure all offices are different, but what is consistent about the EXIT system is their compensation plan. Check out http://www.exitrealty.com/ Basically on top of a pretty high split, they have a great residual plan that beats KW hands down, and continues into retirement and is transferable to your estate.
