I went on my first interview today and I fell in love immediately. Their splits and franchise fees are very competitive with what I have researched about other agencies and their training is one on one. I feel in my heart and gut that this is where I need to be, but am I taking a chance by not interviewing with other agencies before making my decision?
Thanks for any help, Kristi I would interview with three...

Unless you are really, really pressed for time, I'd say that you HAVE TO talk to multiple agencies. Bottom line is that the brokers need you more than you need them, so they're going to try to woo you as much as possible. Not trying to call anyone a liar, but they will promise quite a bit because in the end, they're pitching you.
As for "what feels right", I can understand the feeling. I had the same one with a broker. But when I called for more info and with some follow-up questions over the next week, 3 of my calls & vm's went unanswered. So, it may have "felt right" but their actions were a whole other matter.
At the very least, sleep on it and visit one more to let yourself know that the other agency truly is better - you have little to lose by visiting other agencies.

If anything, interview a few more just to help you feel confident that you are making a good decision.

I don't think that I would approach it with the "the broker needs me more than I need them" attitude.
While I don't think I particularly disagree with the sentiment, good brokers are hard to find. If you find one in your area that meets all your needs and looks way better than the rest, then you really do need them more than they need you.
I know that as a broker, if I was interviewing an agent who had that kind of attitude right there at the front end, I doubt I would invite them to join the brokerage.
As is true of most things in this business, it is all about creating relationships - including with your broker.

Remember that you're in business for yourself. When selecting a Broker, make sure there's an advantage to your business. This could be name recognition, training, less fees or more commission. Set a short term goal for yourself. Where do you want your business to be in 6 or 12 months? Be selective ...but choose wisely.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
