After you passed your real estate test, what are the procedures that you have to follow for actually getting your license? I am in Pa and I want to just drive to Harrisburg and get it, but when would I be able to? Thanks!

Shosey - yes, you can obtain the license, you just can't do any actual agent duties until you are affiliated with a broker.

You can take the classes, take the test and even get your license without being with a broker. You only need them for the final step of hanging your license and you can do that online in a couple of minutes.

In PA I do not think you can get your license without being with a broker first.

Two agents in my office drove to Harrisburg to get their licenses. I sent for mine - near the middle of the month so that it would be there in time to make the next monthly commission meeting (which is when they approve licenses).

I would have driven to get it too, but I wasn't really in a hurry and would have had to make annoying arrangements with my kids and taken time off from work to do it - for me it's about a 3.5 hour drive one way!
