Hi everyone,

I've been interested, and recently decided I should go through with it.

I was just wondering if anyone can offer me advice in where to start, schools you'd recommend, and just any advice in general you could give.

I'm in NE Ohio.

Thank you... there is one about 30-45 min away, which isn't bad.
Do you have any experience with Hondros?

Real Estate is wonderful. I love my job. The best advise I can give you is be sure to interview with as many companies as you can before you make the jump to join one. Make sure its the rigt fit for you. I work for Keller Williams Realty and I love it. We do have a few office is your state. Not sure how close they are. But we love new agents. If you want more info fallow the link below.

This is a link to the Ohio Dept. of Commerce, and all the approved pre-lic providers. The colleges may or may not have going classes going on, you'll have to call & see. Not many seem to have them anymore, or with any regularity, not sure why.

I did take mine through Hondros, as they were the only provider available at the time. My experience w/them, was average. Some instructors were good, others, not so much.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

In the newspaper I see ads sometimes... If you want to learn more about real estate, interested in the biz, or something similar. Would it be any good to contact someone like that?

Start with the Community college, It is alot cheaper.

When I started I kept in touch with the agent that sold us our house many years ago. She provided alot of info and helped guide me. She got nothing from talking to me except a couple lunches and drinks. It carries a high start up cost but well worth it.

Go to a info seminar from the paper and see what they have to offer and ASK QUESTIONS. Take the classes, talk to Brokers, and, and find a match for you. You will hear that you get out of the business what you put into it. SO true, the buyers and sellers will not pursue you, you purse them!

Yeah, I already take classes at the community college, so I might just stay and take real estate up here. I'm not sure. I'm still going to look into Hondros though.

Thanks for the replies folks. :-)

I found Hondros to be nice for a couple reasons. One, it was very flexible. You could take your classes on weekends, nights, or during the weekdays. The other reason is that every single teacher we had was EXCELLENT.

Honros is more expensive, but I have heard that the teachers are excellent and the scheduling is more flexable. Im cheap though, and enjoyed the time away from the Kids, so I used the Community College!

I'm also considering Hondros. It's faster, and I think it's actually less expensive since you don't have to take classes that aren't related to Real Estate. I'll be attending the Career night in April.
