From what I have read the iPhone does not support sim card and you can not replace the battery. It looks cool and slick but lacking those 2 huge factors why on earth would i spend $500 on a phone?

There is still no use for this phone. There are about 4 other phones that will be coming to market that already make the iPhone a dinosaur. Take a look at the Samsung coming, I can't remember the name but google it. All those cute lil touch features are coming from all the other manufactures.

For those that want the iPhone if your not with Cingular don't bother switching for it. Despite their commercials "The Fewest Dropped Calls" Cingular has the highest complaint of dropped calls according to customer surveys, hence the reason for these commercials. I have noticed more dropped calls since the merge with AT&T and poorer reception.

after researching the iphone...i vote thumbs down too...im holding out on upgrading my blackberry for a newer berry....talks of a wifi/gps/ and best of all 3g model are in the talks...

as soon as blackberry releases a 3g model in the US...im sold.

the iphone isnt bad...but the above stated issues seem to be big enough where you would be a fool to buy the first model of this phone. give apple another few months...and they will top it...i mean they release a new ipod every quarter or two...so why not iphone.

oh and my biggest complaint...i used a friends iphone....good luck operating it with one hand...and the keypad still needs to have a few bugs fixed....

the blackberry on the other hand...(while i dont recommend this due to its obvious safety hazard) i can operate while driving, check emails, respond, use google maps, etc etc one handed.

The lack of Infra Red kills the iPhone in the South Bay. Supra Lockboxes use infrared to communicate with the eKey. Since the iPhone has no IR it will not work as an eKey, therefore, you are stuck looking like Batman with the trusty ol' utility belt.
