Hello,
I'm a real estate investor/businessman, and I'd like to get my real estate license. I live in CA and I know that I have to take a group of classes in order to get the full 4 year license. How long do the online classes take, and how soon can I be able to take the test? What's the fastest I can get through this whole process?
thanks,
Sam

Try http://www.alliedschools.com they have a great online program. Real Estate Principlas should take you about 3 weeks.

Most correspondence schools only allow you to take a test for your registered class once every two weeks or so. Arguably, this may take a long a time getting through all your required classes. You can sign up for different classes at multiple schools and sync them to take a test every week.

Check the dre website for approved schools--> http://secure.dre.ca.gov/publicasp/cestatutory.asp

Good luck!!

I signed up for the "works" package at californialicense.com. It includes 5 classes and I have to wait a few weeks between tests. It seems like I could do this much faster if they'd let me. It's kinda frustrating to be held back like this.

If you have extra time between tests, you could write out your business plan, plan your marketing niche, develop your unique selling proposition, design your personal brochure (minus company logo at this stage), get your database up-to-date, scour the websites of your competitors, and read a dozen books on running a real estate business.

^Yes Pat's thoughts are in line with mine.
This now answers a question I had in another thread.
Thanks.

Best of luck.

I'm pretty sure that the lag time between tests is a state DRE requirement and not imposed by the school. Kaplan does the same thing and says that DRE requires an 18-day period between when you get the materials and when you can take the test.
