Well, in terms of the royalties, I can speak for the Cendant (or now "realogy") family of brands such as C21, Coldwell and ERA. Their royalties are 6% of gross commission, plus a 2% national advertising fee. We just tell everyone it's 8%, because it is. All of the other brands I spoke to are similar, but I can't remember specifics.

As for franchisee fees up-front, it depends on your situation. I got some breaks on some of the locations because I was considered a "small market." Your results may vary...
