Hello, I am a new agent & recently signed up with a broker. My farm area is small, wealthy but with a lot of realtors (like everywhere else I am sure). I want to market myself & make sure everyone knows my face. Is there a website where I can get ideas for my postcards. I plan to also do newsletters, no one in my office is doing that. I am in a key, island living & work for the local police dept. so I make contact when residents come in.
Thanks.

To stand out from the rest, send postcards/newsletters that have value & show your knowledge of real estate & the market.

I know someone that spends an entire day on her newsletter. She writes all of it herself. She got calls off of the first one she sent which is pretty amazing for a first mailing. It is chock full of real estate news & articles. We are coming into hurricane season so anything hurricane related is always a hit (no pun intended). Advice like they should check their homeowner's insurance policy, flood insurance etc. I always got lots of response from those types of mailings. I have yet to find a *canned* newsletter that is strictly real estate related without having fluff in it like recipes or other nonsense.

Hi there.

You asked about educational websites for postcard farming. You might try PostcardSmart.com. I publish the website, and I've written a couple of farming / marketing articles for agents. From the site's home page, look for the "real estate" link in the left-hand menu.

If you have more specific questions, feel free to plug them into my agent advice website (link below).

Also, Tanya brings up an excellent point. People like and respond to helpful information. With a little effort (okay, maybe a lot), you could develop a reputation as THE source of real estate knowledge in your area.

Just be sure you include a strong call-to-action with each piece you distribute (be it by email or postal mail). Information is great, but the real goal is to encourage a response, so you'll need to tell people how to respond.

Good luck!
