Kris,

Although I don't own a Toughbook, I'm very familiar with them and they are very good. In my opinion they are pricey. I prefer the brand Durabook which can be purchased from Sams Club online for about $1K. The toughbook usually sells for north of $2K. Also, I don't recommend buying a used laptop unless you know the owner very well. Here, I'm speaking from experience, did it and got burned twice.
