for my license that is.

It has been a process that has been months now.
I passed my RE exams back in May and I immediately signed on with KW.

After my intial application for licensure, I was told I needed to have an informal conference with the RE Commission's Enforcement Committee. So, I had that conference, and was told there would be a decision to grant me a license within 3 days (that was back in July). After numerous phone calls and leaving messages, I finally received one back! Stating I need to have another evaluation and that i should have received the paperwork in the mail stating this. I got nothing in the mail. Finally some time goes by, I finally get it. It simply states they want me to go for an evaluation, BUT they never tell me where to go or whom to contact. So, I have to make many more phone calls and messages to find out where to go. Again, i get a voicemail stating that I will recieve the info by the end of the or beginning of the next. that was 2 1/2 weeks ago. So this week, I call again and get the same message back, "you should recieve it by the end of the week or begining of next". Still waiting....WTF?

I hand delivered my application at the end of MAY!

Even though I didnt have my license yet, I started training and mentoring, but I am not able to do anything without my license. I already missed out on at least 2 or more transactions, and I am becoming more and more discouraged and have not been training for the last couple weeks.

Depending on your role in the field of RE, time really isnt of the essence...Unless it benefits them or makes them money.

I am so pissed!

I think all states real estate commissions are working on their own time.

When I got my brokers license I sent in my fee and application in January and didn't get my scheduled test date in the mail until July. Meanwhile they cashed my check 6 days after I mailed in my application.

At least you are learning while you wait.

Aren't you the guy with some sort of criminal record who was asking us a while back about how the review process works for applicants with records? If so you really can't complain.

Why don't you tell the RECEC to go screw itself? That's basically what you were telling people on this forum who criticized your lack of ethics.

*points out that the criminal record/lack of ethics references are directed at the post above mine*

Sure I can complain. Regardless if someone has a "criminal record" or not. What does my criminal record have to do with the RECEC accountability?
Am I the only person on this board who has been arrested? Don't think so.
And i'll still tell those to go screw themselves. And, yes, I'' be going to B&N sunday for my book...thanks for reminding me.

Oh! You didn't mention you have a criminal record.

In California it is almost impossible to get a real estate license with a criminal record. If you are arrested while holding a license it can be suspended.

Be thankful they are even considering granting you a license.

We deal with a lot of personal information on a daily basis, are allowed acess to the interior of peoples home when they are not around, and are often alone with clients. There are all sorts of opportunities to commit crimes, I think most licensing boards don't want the extra liability of someone who has already been tempted once.

Yeah i was even given the evil eye in CA for missing jury duty i didn't know about when i wanted my license. I got it but they sure dud bring it up. They are super strict in CA about criminal records and being licensed. I didn't even know that was that big of a deal.
